The U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board has ruled in favor of Linda Weiss, former director of the Albany-Stratton VA Medical Center, in her appeal challenging her removal from her post in last month.

Last month, the VA demoted two senior officials accused of manipulating the agency’s hiring system for their own gain. These demotions have since been overturned, but the deputy secretary of the VA, Sloan Gibson, says that he intends to pursue further punishment for the two officials.
